Google Sketchup Design Exercise 3

This assignment was the best one of the whole year so far. It was challenging and fun. It required focus, skill and creativity. The assignment was to build a house from scratch and then decorate. This assignment took me 2 class days to complete. The hardest part of it was designing the stairs and making the rails.Dream House :)!

Google Sketchup Design Exercise 2

This assignment was very difficult. I had to go back and correct things numerous times. The most difficult part about this assignment was getting all the angles right. If one angles was not correct you would have to start all the way over from the beginning. My experience with this assignment was a good one, I feel that the more i build things the better I become at it.

Google Sketchup Design Exercise 1

This assignment was very fun in my opinion. It was A bit more complex from al of the other assignments we were given. If you follow the directions then the assignment will come easy. In this assignment i used tools such as the push/pull to shape the house, the pencil to cus and draw the windows and the roof, and the move tool to pull the box up and make the roof. I was also introduced to the arc tool to make the door of the house.

Google SketchUp Self-Paced Tutorial - Part 3

This tutorial was a little more complex then the first two. It required focus and patience. First you had to cut the design into a staircase to match the other house using the pencil. Then you had to use the push/pull tool to pull it out into an actual stair case. I found myself using the orbit tool alot to make both of the houses identical.

Google SketchUp Self-Paced Tutorial - Part 1

What I did and learned from this tutorial was how to use the push/pull, the orbit, the move, and the paint tool. My assignment was two make the two houses identical. It was difficult to get them exactly alike but its possible if you use the orbit tool to look at every side of the house. What i did was used orbit to turn to different angles as i followed the instructions. I used push/pull to pull out the roof of the house and to make the two pillars for the roof to stand. I used the move tool to move the person and the tree to the exact spot as the other model. I also used the paint tool to match the textures and colors as the other model. I also used the pencil tool to actually cut part of te roof and make the two pillars. I played around with the shades of the shadow as instructed, i made it dark but not too dark. This is a brief reflection of what i've done on this tutorial.

Introduction to Google Sketchup

What i've learned from this introduction was basically how to use google sketchup. I believe this program is designed for users to build things. Architects may even use this program to work on major projects. This program uses various tools to create 3D sketches of anything. Those tools edit the sketch until you get your refined sketch. It uses tools such as orbit which lets you view the sketch from any angle, it uses zoom whichi lets you get close up on the sketch or far away, and it also uses a tool called push/pull which is a major part of shaping sketches. I've learned from this introduction that it is possible to design/build anything from scratch.

Worlde

The experiences i've had with blogs and the blogging system were great. At times it can be difficult to think of what to write on a blog. Their are so many different things it can be used for though. My experience with writing a blog was a good one, I learned how to make post about topics that were provided. I recieved constructive criticisim about my blog and i've fixed it based off of that. After i leave this class ill continue to make blogs about various topics. My experiences with blogs have led me to do some more reasearch on them. I've found out that they have an app for the iphone, where you can type a blog and upload it just like that.

    Good Design&Bad Design Features

While reading these two passages i've learned alot about how to make and design a web page. Most   of the facts were common sense. Some of the facts i wasn't familiar with, for example how link colors should coordinate with the page colors. Making and designing a blog is very easy, you just have to follow the instructions step by step. This is my first blog and I believe that im doing good. I've learned that in order to have a good web page it must fit into 800 x 600 pixel space, pages download fast, and that every page on the site has to look like it belongs to the site.

    Wind turbine

Here's some info that i've learned about the wind turbine: i know that it uses the power of wind to generate electricity, it one of te few eco friendly sources of electricity that we have, and that it doesn't generate much electricity. The reason why it doesn't generate much electricity is because the wind doesn't blow as fast as the turbine needs to be able to turn very often. Unlike gas and nuclear energy wind power is a clean source of electricity, it doesn't put any pollutants in the air or harm the earth. The way that the wind turbine works is the wind hits the propellers, which causes them to turn thus charging a generator located at the top of the turbine. There are two different types of wind turbines, Horizontal axis and vertical. The horizontal turbine is said to be more efficient in producing electricity. The vertical turbine requires alot more power to work.

What i've learned about the blogging topic is... How to create a blog, how to create a gmail account, and what blogs are used for. At first setting up a blog was confusing because i had to make a gmail account. Setting up the gmail account was fairly easy except the part where i had to verify the email using my cellphone. Over the years i've read many blogs about various topics, now i have the chance to make one. Some of my friends have blogs linked from their facebook. They mostly talk about their lives and whats going on at the time. What i've learned about the blogging topic was basically how to create one. A blog can be used for various things such as learning about different businesses, reading reviews about things, and sharing personal information. They are free, easy to use and user friendly.
